From the Editor

Dear A Thin Slice of Anxiety Readers,

We are thrilled to introduce a new addition to our esteemed team of columnists, Mr. Dan Denton. With his diverse background and extensive experience, Dan brings a unique perspective to our publication that will surely captivate and enlighten our readers.

Dan Denton is no stranger to hard work and perseverance. As a former UAW chief steward and union autoworker, he has navigated the challenges and triumphs of the industrial sector. Having undertaken an astonishing four dozen different factory jobs, he possesses an intimate understanding of the intricacies and realities of the working class.

While continuing to contribute to his previous profession, Dan has transitioned into a full-time writer, dedicating himself to crafting stories that reflect the essence of his experiences. His work has resonated with audiences far and wide, earning him recognition in various magazines, union journals, and newspapers. Furthermore, his writing has found a special place among today's best underground and independent artists.

Dan Denton's literary accomplishments include his novel, "$100-A-Week Motel" (Punk Hostage Press, 2021), a compelling exploration of the human spirit in the face of adversity. His poetry/novella hybrid, "Finding Jesus & Prayers To My Saints" (Gutter Snob Books, 2022), showcases his ability to seamlessly blend different literary forms, resulting in a thought-provoking and evocative read. We are also excited to share that his next novel, "The Dead & The Desperate," is scheduled to be published by Roadside Press this fall.

For the past two decades, Dan Denton has called Toledo, OH, home. It is from this vibrant city that he has drawn inspiration, channeling his observations, reflections, and insights into his work. Now, we are honored to have him bring that same passion and wisdom to our publication.

With Dan Denton on board as our new columnist, we are confident that our readers will gain a fresh and authentic perspective on the issues that matter most. Through his writing, Dan will delve into the heart of the human experience, shedding light on the struggles, triumphs, and untold stories that shape our society.

Please join us in welcoming Dan Denton to our publication. We look forward to the thought-provoking discussions and engaging narratives that will undoubtedly emerge from his column.
