From the Editor

Dear Degenerates,

There are two things the world never runs out of: bad news and people who want to pretend it’s not their problem.

We’re not those people.

This anthology, grimy, sharp, strange, is a middle finger wrapped in tinsel. A collection of stories that spit blood into the eggnog. A charity project where noir, pulp, and pitch-black humor come together not just to entertain, but to serve. Every cent goes to Feed the Children. Because if we’re going to write about the darkest corners of humanity, we damn well better remember who’s still stuck there.

This book wouldn’t exist without the vision and tenacity of guest editor JD Clapp. JD brings a ruthless eye and a wicked sense of storytelling to this project, curating a lineup that will bleed authenticity. He knows what we’re after: not just good writing, but writing that hurts in all the right places.

And we’re still building it. Submissions are open now. If you’ve got something twisted, botched heists in Santa suits, double-crosses under the mistletoe, reindeer vendettas, strippers in nativity scenes, send it. This is your chance to turn the season of giving into a season of grit, gloom, and grinning madness.

We hope to have the finished book out just in time for the holidays, so you can stuff your stockings with something sharp and filthy that actually does some good.

You can send submissions to: anxietyanthologies@gmail.com
(Subject line: GRITMAS)

So yes, it’s for charity. But don’t mistake that for sentimentality. This book isn’t a hug. It’s a sucker punch with a purpose.

With Grit,
